"Giving Back"
Well where do we start ????
In October of 2014 my dear sister Debbie McInnis and wonderful friend to so many, from Grande Prairie started her brave fight with Cancer all over again.,,,,,,
16 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and she fought the battle and won. Unfortunately that horrible disease has got a hold of her again in the form of ovarian cancer. She has gone through six Chemo treatments, surgery and in June she was given a clean bill of health in Canada.
Just about a year to the day that she was first diagnosed they informed her that the dreadful disease was back again. She went to her doctors in Canada with NO positive answers to her questions and a poor prognosis.
Deb and her wonderful rock Syd made a huge decision to head to Mexico to see if they could explore other avenues and give her any hope. They found a Clinic called Clinica CIPAG where they met with Dr. Castillo and his amazing support staff in late November. They immediately put her on a Hoxsey diet, Hoxsey tonic , Chemo , Vitamin B 17, stem cells, hyperbaric chamber, chelation and other treatments where she was initially responding well. This treatment is different for every person. Hers consisted of 21 days of treatment ( everyday except Sunday). She has spent dozens of hours on intravenous. Then it started again.....they had given her a second Chemo treatment when she broke out in a terrible rash on her abdomen and other problems arose so they had to halt the treatment, cleanse her system and start her back on everything one item at a time to figure out what was causing the problem. Unfortunately they couldn't put her back on the Chemo with the rest of the treatment at that time.
That brought us to Christmas where she came back to Phoenix to spend Christmas with her beautiful daughters and their mates. Me and my baby sister Brenda's wonderful life partner Lewis helped me put flights together for my Mom and sister. We put them all on facetime and gave them the tickets. It was a total surprise. They flew to Phoenix (December 31 to January 9) to spent 10 days with her. Syd had to leave back to Calgary January 6th for his job. He only spent five days in Calgary when we called him back to Phoenix on January 11th. At this time the four of us ( Carol & Laurie Lavine, Debbie & Syd) made a very difficult trip back to the clinic in Tijuana where she is undergoing so many different treatments that it would take me hours to explain.
At this time we would like to reach out to friends and family to help with the hefty medical bills that they are encountering at the hospital and the clinic as she is fighting for her life. Deb is the kindest sister/friend I think I have ever been blessed to know and the best part is that I have been able to call that amazing little person my sister for 57 years.
ITS OUR TURN to give a little back to the person that has always been the first one there to help or give back ...can you find it in your heart to help out?
