Jojo's Life Saving Surgery
Donation protected
I'm Sarah. The mom of one spunky, little pig-dog named Jojo. In case you haven't met this infamous pug, he has a heart for everyone he meets, always willing to play, and brings the utmost happiness to me and his family's life (especially his little sister Penny) But unfortunately like most children, fur and human alike, he got a boo-boo.. A big one.
Late night Saturday (January 2nd), I got a call that Jojo had hurt his leg, and was headed to the Vet ER. After an excruciating wait, we got to see his x-rays, and Jojo had clearly broken his leg. At the time we weren't informed of the gravity of his injury, just that he should rest for 4 to 6 weeks and take his medications. When we took him for a check-up to his actual doctor a few days later we were stunned to hear that no, it wasn't just broken and that no, it wouldn't heal on it's own. Jojo's leg is in reality broken at a very crucial joint, that if left alone will cause him a lifetime of chronic pain. His doctor gave us two options: 1) Pay for specialized surgery or 2) have him euthanized.
This is certainly an unexpected expense, but to make matters worse the surgery must be done as quickly as possible (within the next week) in order for the highest rate of success. The last 48 hours has been an endless attempt to find the funds necessary, and after the expenses already accrued for the ER, we are left with little options.
As difficult as it is to come to this point, we're asking for help. No donation is too small. Our family will be forever grateful to see Jojo live out a long, healthy life and get back to being the spunky little pup he is. Thank you for listening, for your support, and for any help you are able to give.
