Hi my name is Louie and I am hoping that my mom’s network of friends can help us during this hard time.

In June, I was in a tragic accident. I was run over by a truck. At that time I suffered a dislocated back left leg, nerve damage in my back right leg, pelvis fractures and shock. I spent a week in the hospital and had two surgeries trying to re attach my left leg.

The second surgery seemed successful and my mom left her job for 2 months to do all of my post op care. It was a very hard time for all of us here but we got through it and I was given the clear to play with my friends again and do all of the things I love to do. The surgery costs were 15 grand and my family paid a portion of what was not covered by insurance.

Last week, I suddenly started limping. After a physical exam, X rays and a hip biopsy (to check for infection) , we heard the terrible news. I will need “another” surgery. No one seems to know why. My mom was crying and didn’t know how we would get through this again.

Currently, I am on medications as I await the surgery I now need. I need a total hip replacement surgery scheduled to take place on January 13th by a specialist in Montreal. It is an invasive surgery but it will give me the best shot at saving my leg. This surgery is estimated to be around 10 grand but we are still waiting on the final numbers. My recovery should take 3 months but can also take up to 6 months. Insurance will pay a portion of this but my mom will be left with thousands to pay.

I am currently limping around on 3 legs and my doctor gave me meds to help with pain and inflammation. A couple of days ago I started pooing blood and throwing up. I was so scared and so was my mom and my doggy sitter. Mom took me off the meds from the doctor as we were now told that they can destroy my stomach. Mom was so mad. I am now stable and on a med to repair my stomach. So far I’m doing well:)

My mom really doesn’t like to ask anyone for help but this time, we really could use it. We are asking for our friends and family to either donate to our cause or to donate/share this fundraiser. Every little bit of charity and publicity will help and we will be sure to update you along the way as we enter this next phase in my healing.

I really just want to be able to walk and run without falling over and for the pain to go away. I want my mom to stop worrying, stressing and looking so sad. I want to play with my friends again and enjoy the rest of my doggy years. I am not even 4 yet so I have a lot of life ahead of me.

Thank you for reading my story and for donating and/or sharing this if you do. It means the world to my mom and I.

Sincerely,

Louie
