Honoring Ryan Spickard

Donation protected
Ryan Michael Spickard unexpectedly passed from our world on May 16.

He was brilliant, wildly creative, eccentric, fiercely loyal, and above all, so kind.  We (Amanda and Melissa) were honored to be his big sisters and love him deeply.

For the past 20 years he also battled the demons of mental illness in the form of schizoaffective disorder, which is schizophrenia and bipolar disorders together.  Because of this illness, Ryan was unable to live independently and was on disability.

Despite his challenges, he continued to produce expressive art, tell stories through RPGs (role playing games), and help care for our father who has dementia. Who he was (and is!) shined through. To sit and have a conversation with Ryan was to travel time, to explore the mysteries of God, the universe and everything!

(here is Ryan with my (Amanda) late son, Willem. Ryan was always patient and Willem loved to play with his uncle!)

Because Ryan was on disability, and his passing so unexpected, we were unprepared for the financial obligations of funeral services.

Please help us honor him, his life, and what he means to us. The funds we raise will help us cover these expenses and hold a memorial service in early July.

Thank you for your help and support,
Amanda and Melissa, Ryan's sisters
