Kristian Haugvoll is one of the best husband, father and friend you will ever meet. He is such a good man with amazing strength. Kristian IS SUPERMAN!! He is my best friend's husband and their lives are forever changed. Laura and Kristian were high school sweethearts. They married and had four kids. Kristian is a hard working A/C man and Laura is a principal of an elementary school. They have two kids in college, one in high school and one in middle school.
I was blessed to have met Laura ten years ago when we taught school together in Katy ISD. We became fast friends when we rode the MS150 together. Laura gives until she can't give any more... and then gives some more! Kristian supports his wife unconditioinally and is there with her in all that she does. He is an amazing man. The woman never stops- thus Kristian never stops!
Kristian and Laura are the kind of friends you can call anytime and they will be there for you. The kind of people that will do what needs to be done and won't stop until it's done... and then does more!
Wednesday evening, July 30, 2014, their lives were forever changed. Kristian was hit by a drunk driver. Thankfully, with the help of gaurdian angels, Kristian survived. First of all, I cannot thank enough their neighbor, Keith Raughter, for getting Kristian the help he needed. As well as Troy Cagle for stopping to help. Without those two and the FOUR doctors that just HAPPEN TO DRIVE BY and stopped to help, we would have lost a truly great man. Words cannot express the mounds of graitude we all have for you.
By the grace of God, Kristian survived. He, however, lost the lower part of his right leg. He will be in hospital for several weeks, but has an even longer road ahead of him. He, and his family, have a new normal to learn...
Kristian and Laura are always giving to others and now is the time for them to receive a little...
Kristian is an A/C man. Obviously, he wont be able to just pick up where he left off at work. He's not going to be able to work for a long time and when he is able to work again, it will take time for him to adapt to his new normal. Like I said earlier, Laura is an elementary school principal- for Lamar Consolidated ISD. As glamorous as it sounds, it's not enought to sustain a family of six... Not to mention the quickly rising medical bills, college tuition for TWO and adapting to their new way of life! This is a way to give back to an amazing family who is always giving. They have a long, expensive road ahead of them.
