In 2013 on my birthday I went into the Burbank animal shelter and asked for the cat that needed a home the most. I was told that bonded pairs are less likely to get adopted, so I met my two girls and brought them home. (I had lost my sweet childhood cat Tigger about 6 months before.) I named them Zelda and Xena, and of course they've been my little princesses ever since. Zelda has always been a bit of a binge eater and eating so fast she would regurgitate her food, lately she's been losing a lot of weight. A few people have told me it what they suspect it could be. Her original veterinarian retired, so I've been calling around looking for somewhere to take her. I've found a few great options, but unfortunately with the world being the way it is right now. I don't have the funds to bring her into the vet to even get a quote for which tests need to be done. I've been giving her more food lately just so she doesn't completely waste away, but it doesn't look like she's keeping anything on her. I can now feel all of her ribs, and her hip bones. I realize even if I could afford to take her in, and get tests done, there will most likely be medication she'll need. This year has been financially hard already, but there is some hope for us. I don't want to keep waiting for things to get better before I take her into a vet. I feel awful for not being able to take her in right away. I can't get anything like a care credit right now, so I ask for any help that is at all possible! I worry I might have to take Xena into the vet soon too, but for now Zelda really needs the help. Thank you for taking the time to read about my little girl Zelda!
