Hello friends and family,

As many of you know, I am usually the person looking for ways to give back and help others. However, today my family and I are facing an incredibly difficult reality, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support.

On April 10, 2026, my stepfather suffered a severe stroke in the Dominican Republic. He has been in the ICU ever since. While he is fully conscious, the road to recovery is very steep. Currently, he is:

• Unable to speak or move his arms and legs, though he can move his head.

• Dependent on a feeding tube and requires constant aspiration to clear his saliva because he cannot swallow on his own.

The doctors are ready to discharge him, but he requires life-support mechanisms and intensive medical treatments at home. In the Dominican Republic, the cost of this level of specialized care—including medications and equipment—is incredibly high.

Between my current university schedule and my responsibilities as a mother, I am not in a position to fund these life-saving requirements on my own. This is why I am turning to the kindness of our community.
