Help Joan Lynn and Jay Smith

My good friend Joan Lynn, who many of you know from working at Food Lion in Colonial Beach, VAv for many, many years needs our help. Joan’s grandson, Jay Smith, who lives with his grandmother was in a serious accident on August 2 on Route 205. His car was hit in the rear while he was slowing for a left turning car flipping it around. He was then hit in the side by another vehicle coming from the other direction. Jay was flown to MCU in Richmond and has since had numerous surgeries. He will be in the hospital for a while more, a rehab facility and a wheel chair for a few months after that with a long recovery.
 
Many of you are also aware that a few years ago Joan’s daughter (Jay’s mother) passed from cancer and just a year and a half ago Joan’s husband Ray passed from cancer. Grandmother and grandson are very, very close. Since Jay’s accident Joan has been with Jay in Richmond and has not been at work (she has three jobs). Joan needs help to take care of some expenses until she can get back to work and catch up so she won't have to leave Jay's side.
