Medical Bills & Finances

On April 27, 2017 my beloved mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, which was the beginning of a struggling journey for her and my family. Not only was this the start of sad and scary days not knowing what would happen to my mom, but days and nights she would spend in the hospital. Throughout my mother's battle, she was not only receiving chemotherapy biweekly, but she was hospitalized on numerous accounts. From pneumonia, to kidney stones, to an input of a stent due to blockage in her bile ducts, to intolerable stomach pains, to drainage of the ascites in her stomach, the list goes on. On September 20, 2019 our angel was called to heaven. Not only are we going through the hardest times of our lives due to grieving and missing her immensely, but there has been a tremendous amount of stress put on my father.  Whenever my mother fell ill ontop of the cancer, my father would take off from work to accompany his wife and be there for her "through sickness and through health" and while the chemotherapy bills, hospital bills, and VITAS (hospice) bills have piled up, my father was told the same week of my mother's passing that there is no more work available. On top of the deep sorrow he feels and the sense of being lost from the loss of his wife, he now faces a tremendous financial burden and is afraid of what the future may entail if he has no income to support not only him, but his family.
