CFA Ride for the Future

On Saturday 15th August 2020 (lockdown permitting), a group of coaches and volunteers from the Community Football Academy (CFA) will cycle 135 miles from Leicester to London to raise at least £10,000 for the NHS Neonatal Unit at Leicester General hospital.
The Unit offers care for babies of all gestations, including those requiring the most specialised forms of neonatal intensive care. They are a regional cooling centre, providing specialist therapy for babies that have suffered from a lack of oxygen around the time of birth. The unit work with a team of specialist neonatal surgeons and offer surgery for a range of serious conditions. They have close working links with other colleagues at the East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre and jointly treat a number of children with complex heart problems.
The group of riders and support staff consist of all ages with various abilities and experience. This is no way whatsoever going to be an easy task and we appreciate that it will not only be mentally but physically challenging. However as a community organisation we are motivated to put all our efforts into completing this challenge in raising as much money as possible for our future generations. We will keep you all updated on the planning and our progress.
