It is with the deepest sorrow to say that our dear friend, Karen Williams, passed away on Christmas Eve after bravely fighting colon cancer for 2 1/2 years. She was a very dedicated and loving mother, a wonderful wife and most of all a devoted and loving grandmother.
Karen spent a lot of her life volunteering while her children were in school. She spent hundreds of hours every year making sure that each year was special for every student from K-12. She served on the PTA for many years making sure students were getting the best education with the proper funds. She made sure teachers and staff were well taken care of and that the schools were taken care of as well. She loved everything she did for the students throughout Poway Unified School District.
As her friends, we can’t say enough about her. She made you laugh and was extremely crafty. Anyone who knew Karen knows she was the QUEEN of crafting! She could make or do anything out of a piece of paper (literally). She would love to meet up with friends for lunch and dinner. If you needed something, Karen was there to the rescue. She never complained about anything. If you needed help with a project, she would say “where can I help.” She was a wonderful caring person that we all loved very much. We don’t know what we are going to do without Karen in our world.
We do know how you can help her family at this time. This fund has been set up to support a wonderful woman that supported thousands of children in the Poway Unified School District for over 20 years. Her family needs help with funeral expenses as well as medical and hospital expenses that exceeded the insurance coverage. Please if you can donate. Any amount will help. The family would be very grateful for any donation.
