UPDATE: Good news! Jamie is home and beginning the long recovery journey. It will be a few months before she can fully resume all activities and 6 months before she can go back to work, but she is well on her way! More good news...she qualified for financial relief that covers a significant amount of the medical expenses. A big shout out to the hospital financial office for making that happen.

Please share the good news. And thanks again to all who have contributed!
*********************
My nephew's wife, Jamie, is an otherwise healthy 41-year-old mother and wife. The week before Thanksgiving, she had a stroke due to a hole in her carotid artery bleeding into her brain. She was airlifted to EJ General Hospital where they were able to put a stent in to block off the hole and a drain tube to relieve cranial pressure. She is currently in the Neuro ICU. It’s been day by day but she is making great progress, she is fully alert and has all motor functions (Thank you, God!). A second procedure was done to address vasospasms in the brain, and she has at least one more procedure to go and is looking at a couple more weeks in the ICU.

Unfortunately, Jamie does not currently have medical insurance. They have been working with the hospital's financial assistance office to determine options and plans for payment of the medical expenses. Additionally, Jamie will likely not be able to work for several months after being released from the hospital.

We are especially thankful to all of the medical staff for taking such good care of Jamie and staying on top, and ahead of, any complications. And HUGE Thanks to all of the family and friends for reaching out and offering help in the form of child care, a place to stay on the Southshore, meals, and care of the chickens. At this time, the family is asking for any financial support you can give to help cover the medical expenses. Even if it's just a tiny amount, any assistance will be much appreciated and go a long way.

"We love you all and can’t be thankful enough for having such amazing and wonderful people in our lives."
