My name is Rebecca, and I am fundraising for my friend Jessica.

Jessica has been dealing with chronic pain for years, due to an autoimmune condition, but a few months ago she started to experience constant pain in her jaw, so intense she couldn't open her mouth, chew food, or sleep through the night. She was referred to a specialist, and after four months of therapy, is finally able to eat solid food again.

That's the good news.

The bad news is that the specialist didn't take Jessica's insurance, so she had to pay out of pocket. The next phase of her treatment (surgery), will be covered by her insurance but only after she's met her deductible. Since she already had to pay for the specialist, this is not something she can presently afford.

And to top this all off, her car (which she uses for her lengthy commute to work) broke down. She needs to be able to pay for repairs so she can keep getting to work.

Jessica has always been a champion for those in hard places going through difficult times. She has gone out of her way to support and help others, but now she could use some financial assistance to help pay for this much-needed medical care, and to get her car in working order.
