Cette maladie rare m'a coûté 5 ans de vie

Bonjour, je m'appelle Nicolas et je souffre du syndrome d'excitation génitale persistante dont j'ai été diagnostiqué l'an dernier.
Ce syndrome se traduit par une excitation débordante couplée à une douleur au bassin permanente.

Ces 5 dernières années, je me suis épuisé en thérapies et consultations de  spécialistes, en tout deux psychothérapeutes, un psychiatre,
un sexologue, un médecin endocrinologue, un chirurgien urologue, un neurochirurgien...

Malheureusement aucun de ces professionnels de santé ne connaissait ce syndrome "tabou". Jusqu'à que le diagnostic tombe grâce à un
sexologue averti l'an dernier. Je suis repassé par l'urologue et le neurochirurgien et on recommence à zéro.
La maladie n'est pas "dans ma tête". A force d'interrogatoires, les médecins en ont témoigné noir sur blanc.
Il n'en relève pas non plus de ma responsabilité comme si j'y étais pour quelque chose.

Elle touche entre 1 et 4% de la population (hommes et femmes) et je vis ce genre de douleur tous les jours, quelque soit l'occupation ou l'activité que je mène. Mes efforts n'ont pas réussi à gérer mes symptômes confortablement, malgré traitement et médicament.

J'ai eu des hauts et beaucoup de bas, des moments que je qualifierais comme l'enfer sur terre.
Un jour, un médecin a qualifié le ressenti du syndrome comme une "sciatique génitale". C'est exactement ça.
Jusqu'à aujourd'hui je me suis heurté à beaucoup d'incompréhensions. Quand j'en parle autour de moi, on me répond parfois "c'est normal d'être excité", "en quoi c'est un problème ?" ou "arrête de te faire du souci".

Aujourd'hui, je demande votre aide dans ma campagne de financement participatif pour que je puisse assister à des sessions intensives d'ostéopathie biodynamique réunissant 4 ostéopathes sur une durée de 5 jours.
Elle aura lieu en septembre.
 
Les frais ostéopathiques s'élèvent à 900€
Les frais d'hébergement à 200€.
 
J'espère de tout mon cœur réussir cette collecte et par elle, sentir qu'après beaucoup d'échecs et d'incompréhensions, je reçoive du soutien et que mon mal-être puisse être reconnu.

Hello, my name is Nicolas and I suffer from persistent genital arousal disorder (a genito-pelvic dysesthesia) which was diagnosed last year.
This disorder results in unwanted misfiring of pelvic nerves causing hyperarousal coupled with pain in the pelvic area.

Over the past 5 years, I have exhausted several therapies and specialist consultations, including two psychotherapists, a psychiatrist, a sexologist, an endocrinologist, a urologist, a neurosurgeon...

Unfortunately, none of these health professionals had heard about this syndrome until I was diagnosed by a knowledgeable sexologist last year. I went back to the urologist and the neurosurgeon to start over.

The disease is not "in my head." Through several interviews, the doctors testified in
this was definitely not the case.
Nor is it my responsibility as if I had something to do with it.

It affects between 1 and 4% of the population (men and women) and I experience this kind of pain every day, regardless of the occupation or activity I carry out. My efforts have not managed my symptoms comfortably, despite treatment and medication.

I've had ups and downs, moments that I would describe as hell on earth.

One day, a specialist referred to this disorder as "genital sciatica". That's exactly what it is.

Until today I have encountered many misunderstandings. When I talk about it around me, I am sometimes told "it's normal to be excited", "what’s the problem?" or "stop worrying".

I am seeking your help for this crowdfunding campaign in order to attend a strongly recommended approach, a biodynamic osteopathy intensive treatment where one is assessed and treated by 4 different well-reputed osteopaths over a period of 5 days.


It will take place in September.

I hope with all my heart to succeed with this campaign and through it, to feel that after many failures and misunderstandings, I receive support and that this rare disorder can be recognized.

Hoping this campaign and treatment option will also give hope to others who suffer from PGAD.
