Amy Ward Desjardins Relief Fund

In the early morning hours of Christmas Eve, Amy experienced what she thought was a panic attack.  Being the trooper that she is, she powered through it and the subsequent chest pains that followed throughout the day.

Thankfully, Amy eventually got medical help because she was actually having a heart attack. While most of us were celebrating Christmas in our own homes, Amy was undergoing  extensive testing, including bloodwork, imaging and cardiac catheterization.   It was determined that the damage was too extensive for a less invasive stent placement and open-heart surgery is going to be necessary.   Amy is scheduled to have the surgery this coming Monday, December 30th.

For those of you who weren't aware, Amy had recently cut back work hours to finally take care of her own health after years of taking care of others.   Little did she know that soon she would be  fighting for her life. Because she cut back her hours, she is no longer eligible for paid time off. The bills from this surgery and hospitalization are going to be immense.  In addition, Amy won't be able to work for 8-9 weeks following the surgery.

The last thing Amy and her husband Dwaine should have to worry about during this time is money. Let's all pitch in and take that worry off their shoulders.  Please donate if you're able, send your positive thoughts and prayers, and share this with your friends and family so they can do the same. This community is a great one and we take care of our own. Let's blow this $3,000 goal out of the water and keep setting higher ones.

Thank you!
