My name is Victoria and I am one of the step-daughters of Cesar Avila. I started this GoFundMe to help support my mom, Amanda Hardesty, and Cesar during this medical crisis. My mom is the sole financial supporter currently since they were denied disability through the state twice, despite his medical background. Cesar has been on dialysis for the past 5 years. After a series of events over the past few months, he was hospitalized shortly in the beginning of February for swelling believed to be from a medication allergy. He was discharged from the hospital; however, on February 28th, he came back to the ER for further swelling and was intubated because his airway was obstructed. They discovered that he has massive blockage in veins on both sides of his chest, which is causing the swelling and complications with dialysis. Now he is being transferred to VCU in Richmond, VA for a possible major bypass surgery. I am hoping our village can rally around them at this time with prayers and support. Between bills, medical expenses, gas, and food, along with mom needing to be by his side and missing work, it has been and continues to be a struggle. Thank you so much for all your love and support.
