I recently incorporated, The Cervitude Coalition, a 501 (c)(3). My organization creates access to quality trauma informed mental and holistic health services, training and research.
I support marginalized and disenfranchised individuals living with complex trauma by providing access to excellent holistic health care services regardless of their ability to pay. We take insurance, work pro-bono and offer sliding scale for all services. We are proud to say we currently offset self pay costs upwards of 75% for all self pay clients.
This fundraiser will help support the organizational overhead costs for the first quarter our non-profit, which includes renting a new raw work space which we are building out and furnishing. This next phase will also allow the organization to train and supervise PoC practitioners. It will subsidize continuing education costs. In order to provide continuity of care and meet education continuation costs, these funds must be raised by August 1 2019.
I have been working for the last 5 years to bring this vision to fruition. With your support, your donation is an investment in me and a confirmation of your belief in the work that I have dedicated my life to. I have had success working independently and am excited to be able to offer greater services to our community. You can check out what I have been doing independently here .
Now, with your help, the Cervitude Coalition (EIN): 84-2193971, will reach more people who need it.
This project is born out of a deep desire to contribute to my community because of personal experience with complex trauma and financial hardship. Paying out of pocket for mental and holistic health costs can be a burden. I never want anyone who needs treatment for complex trauma to let money be a barrier. I also want PoC practitioners to be paid a living wage and not provide their services for free all the time. I have been on both sides of this story and my situation is not unique. But I have been lucky.
