What has the Century High School Band Program been doing for the last 6 months?
Imagine 149 students in our band and colorguard, filming and producing a virtual show that will be second to none. We would like to share our video of “Ignite” personally with you.
The YouTube World Premiere will be on 1.21.21 at 1:21pm.
We are faced with new challenges and obstacles every day now. We see from our distance learning survey that students and parents are more concerned with social and emotional well-being. Engagement and community building are more important than ever, and harder to achieve. Band has always played a critical role in these goals for so many. Truthfully, online bands has had many challenges. It takes creativity and teamwork from every student and teacher. Grit and self-discipline are not only beneficial but essential.
Over the past 6 months we have been struggling to support these goals. We have had obstacles from our trailer broken into, wheels removed and damaged to our doors then the same week over 1k of our can/bottles were stolen from another trailer. We are also not charging any fees for our Winter programs in these challenging times. This would include student lessons and professional fees.
