Help Century Lodge's Future-Huge Mandated Project
Donation protected
We have had our family business, Century Lodge for 34 years. Thanks to our family, staff, and our valued guests, it has become very successful. It has excellent fishing and has become a special place for many guests both new and repeat. Our guests look forward to coming every year and we love having them. They become like family to us. With the border being closed in 2020 and for most of 2021 due to COVID, we haven’t had an income for almost two years but still incurred overhead expenses each year. We also kept our rates from 2020 and rolled over the deposit for two years as a courtesy to guests. On top of that then we have been required by the Canadian government to upgrade our septic system as many other lodges have as well. With this extra astronomical expense, we are asking for those who can help donate to this huge, very costly project. This expense is unrealistic for a small family business to incur. Being on an island makes the project even more challenging and costly even more than being on the mainland as we have to haul everything over by boat/barge including machines, supplies, materials, etc. across the water and hours upon hours of hauling massive amounts of sand. We also have to haul more sand across the ice. We have already spent $300,000 and completed a large portion of the work, but we still, need about $275,000 to complete the project. Any donation you would be able to contribute to this would be greatly appreciated. We are asking for any support you can give, large or small, to help us with this huge project so we can continue to be a place that many generations of families can enjoy and that we love. If you can share this by posting to social media that would be helpful. Thank you. We deeply appreciate your help.
