Last year, after a long process of negotiation, a law has been approved to support this community run initiative. Now the Centro San Jorge Jardín works with the provincial government in order to assure sustainability and quality. However, there is still a great need for additional resources.
Many of these kids come from homes where they lack the basic necessities to live a normal day to day life. They lack access to recreational spaces, medical attention, and sustainable housing.
In New York City, we pride ourselves on being the melting pot, the city with the most cultural diversity. Argentina is another melting pot of the world, but the kids from this specific city in Argentina, are not as fortunate. Because many of the students come from families in Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru, and the northwest of Argentina, they face extreme social stigma issues as a result of their migratory status.
Now that you've learned what the problem is, this is how you can be a part of the solution. We ask that, if possible, please donate at least $1.00 to contribute to the cause. Alejandia, Greiddy, and I are raising money to purchase the basic necessities like food, school supplies, toiletries, and building renovations to meet board of education requirements, in order to sustain this organization that was courageously created and built from scratch by the community members.
Every dollar counts! We can make a difference we just need your help! It is not until all communities are liberated that we are all truly liberated.
