Hi everyone.

My name is Gillian, I live in the UK but am a member of Corfu Cemetery Cats - Corfu. I make a donation every month and visit a couple of times a year, helping out and organizing deep cleans to avoid cross contamination. I also run the groups email and handle various requests for help from both locals and tourists.

Cemetery Cats - Corfu pay the electric bill for the shelter by monthly installments, but we have just received a revised bill following a meter reading. This revised bill will be the end of us as on top of weekly vet bills and the much needed medication our tribe requires along with almost daily requests to help struggling and abandoned cats and kittens, we are drowning and need help.

Why is the electric bill so high? We have around 20 cats and kittens in "the room". The catio has heat pads on 24/7 as many of our wards are weak and susceptible to pneumonia. Without this constant heat, our vet bills would be higher and we would spend a lot more on medication also many would not survive due to being weak.

I'm sure you'll understand that we also need the air con on in the main area of the room. Summer temperatures are tortuous on Corfu and the room needs to be a livable temperature for the cats and kittens (and the volunteers). This on top of the medication fridge and lighting has led to this disastrous situation for us.

We only ask for help in this way, when we have a desperate situation and unfortunately for us, this is very desperate.

Any donation towards this bill will be gratefully received as it will allow us to clear this debt and continue to help the many cats and kittens who urgently need operations, medication, warmth, love and a home with us or new families across Europe.
