Celine Emile Breast Cancer Surgeries Fund

Hello , My Name is Ashley Deisan , and while this Gofund me isn’t for me ; it’s for someone who has been very near and dear to my heart all my life. My older and only sister Celine has been sick for nearly all my life; because of her devotion to the welfare of others, you would never know it. She is a kind, honest, selfless, and loving daughter, sister, and mother of 2 brilliant children. I've never met anyone as hardworking, committed, dedicated, and altruistic as my sister. Anyone who knows or has known Celine can attest to her ability to strive and strain for her family, despite the excruciating pain and health challenges she endures. 


My sister has had Myasthenia Gravis, a grave muscle weakness, for almost two decades.  She was diagnosed with a second autoimmune disease called Neuromyelitis optica (NMO) in 2015, just a few months after welcoming my beautiful niece into the world. The NMO left my sister paralyzed and blind; she spent months in different hospitals, and several weeks in rehab facilities to relearn all the basics.  Although it has been anything but easy, during the past 3 and a half years, Celine has been trying  to remain healthy. While continuing to be a phenomenal mother and raising her two children, trying to remain healthy seemed so promising.

 Things were looking well until October of last year when she began to feel sharp needle pokes on her right breast. In early December, she was sent to get a mammogram, which was followed by a biopsy. On December 8, 2018 my worst nightmare was confirmed, she was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. 


Given that she is in her thirties, a genetic test was done. My sister tested positive for BRCA2. Testing positive for BRCA2 put her at a very high risk of having a re-occurrence of breast cancer or ovarian cancer. We were told the only way to lower risks were to have a double mastectomy with reconstruction and a hysterectomy. With all the surgeries, her medical bills are piling up. The family and I just know we will beat this, by the grace of God, just like He's carried her through all the other hurdles in life.
