Hi, my name is Jamie, and I'm Celia’s sister.
We recently lost Celia very suddenly and unexpectedly in Victoria, BC. Our family is completely heartbroken and still trying to understand what happened. Her passing is currently under investigation by the coroner, and we are waiting for more information.
Celia was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend to many. She was kind, gentle, and full of grace — the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome and seen. She was an artist, a musician, and someone who cared deeply about people and the world around her. Many in Victoria and beyond will remember her from community gatherings, music events, and dance floors — she had a way of lighting up the space just by being in it.
Right now, we’re trying to raise funds so that our family can travel from Quesnel to Victoria to take care of the things that need to be handled — bringing Celia and her belongings home, and making sure everything is cared for with love and dignity. Our mom is on a fixed income, and the costs of travel and these immediate logistics are more than we can manage on our own. We’re asking for help to raise $4,000 to cover these immediate expenses.
There will be a celebration of Celia’s life — and we will share more details once we’ve been able to bring her home and make plans. We know how many people cared about her, and we want to honour her in a way that reflects the beauty and heart she brought to this world.
Any amount helps, and if you aren’t in a position to give, just sharing this means a lot.
Thank you for your support, your love, and your care for Celia.
With gratitude,
Jamie
