Please help us support our incredible colleague and dear friend, Celia “Marie” Gamboa. Marie has been battling metastatic breast cancer for over four years, and recently her oncologist informed her that she has run out of treatment options and will need to begin looking for clinical trials.  Thus, in an effort to provide financial support to Marie and her family, we are setting up this fundraiser to help offset the cost of future clinical trials and other medical expenses that they will incur as Marie continues to fight this ongoing and relentless battle.

Being able to support Marie through this time would not only mean a great deal to her, but also to her family. Most importantly, it would give Marie more precious time to spend with the light of her life, her 10 year old son, Vince.
     
Despite dealing with her grim prognosis and her declining health, Marie has consistently continued to show up for the Frostig students and community day in and day out. She is kind, caring, funny, and dedicated; and, because of this, she is incredibly loved by all of the students, teachers, and families with whom she interacts. In fact, not many people even know what Marie is going through. When she is feeling sick (which is most of the time), Marie never complains or feels sorry for herself. Instead, she remains present, involved, and positive. Marie’s strength, courage, and perseverance are nothing short of inspirational. As Marie continues to show up and fight, now is our opportunity to show up and support her and let her know that we love her and we are with her.
