For those of you who aren’t already aware, my amazing mother Celeste Jonza, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. This time last year she was completely healthy with no signs of any cancer. It started out as a polyp in her nose and grew into a large mass that metastasized (spread) onto her spine as well.

Her cell division rate is 80%! For those of you who don’t know what that means, her cancer is spreading fast and aggressively. 80/100 cells are able to multiply through every cycle. So if she started with 100 normal cells, 80 of them are cancerous, every time the cells divide it multiples. So the first division leads to 160 cancer cells, then 320, 640 etc. and all of this started as early as March. And within 6months this is where we’ve ended up.

She is currently using a walker to get around as she has lost a lot of her mobility since the spinal tumor has continued to grow.

She already fought cancer and won once, here’s to hoping she can do it again!

Shes already had one hospital stay and was taken to the ER by ambulance last night for possible spinal cord compression. The spinal cord is currently compressed but not to the point that it’s a true surgical emergency yet. They hope to shrink the tumors with chemo and radiation over the next month to help with her pain. We are going to have tons of medical bills piling up on top over other basic expenses that come with being sick too. We’ve decided to open a GoFundMe to try and help with any little bit that we can. Our main goal is to make it so our mom doesn’t have to struggle financially while she’s struggling mentally and physically as well.

Even if you’re unable to donate please come out to the Sandbar on 11/2/25 for the benefit and show your support.

We can’t thank everyone enough for the outpouring of support that we’ve all received.

We will do our best to keep everyone updated as we hear more!
