Hi, I'm Celeste Garcia- a stay at home mom of 4. I'm not sure what other things to say about myself, other than I am constantly on the go with my kids and everything they are involved in. During a separate fundraiser for my oldest's baseball team, we were out selling waters and I dislocated my right knee. This wasn't the first time it has happened but it was the first time where I had to physically hold it in place or else it would slip right back out if I tried to walk or even simply move. I have become used to just dealing with knee pain, as I've suffered the same reoccuring injury to my left knee since middle school. But now it was happening to my "good" knee. Thankfully I was able to get a referral to an orthopedic specialist right away. At first an arthroscopic MPFL reconstruction was reccommended but after getting and revoewing my MRI, the surgeon is requesting an MPFL Reconstruction surgery along with a cartilage graft and adjusting my quad tendon angel and wanting to see the back of my platella- requiring a 6 inch incision to the front and back sides of my knee. Once I have recovered from this surgery, I will be having the same surgery to my left knee. Being a stay at home mom for nearly 10 years, we manage and budget heavily off Juan's income. Earlier this year, we suffered a great family loss, my Father in Law, and Juan broke his hand requiring surgery to align the bones, inserting rods to his 4th and 5th metacarpals. Both things used up all of Juan's PTO and required money up front. Now with my surgery being scheduled, it's hard to manage it all with just our one income because it also needs to be paid in full before surgery day. Money being raised will be used to pay our part of the surgery costs as well as some extra for physical therapy, and for Juan to be able to stay home for a few days till I can adjust and able to bear weight on my leg. If enough can be raised to just help cover surgery, I would be more than thrilled. We appreciate any help that is given, even if it's just sharing our page or sending a prayer that the surgery and recovery go smoothly.
