Calling all Warriors, Prayer Warriors, friends, and families to help support our Sanchez ‘Ohana!

Our dear friend and fellow pitcher mama, Celeste is fighting cancer yet once again and we need your prayers and monetary support to help her and her ohana focus on what’s most important, her. Celeste is a loving wife to Josh whose had her heart since 2001 and together they have two amazing sons Logan (17) and Kaeden (13) whom are her absolute world. Nearly 5 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and just as she was nearing the 5-year remission mark, she got the heart wrenching news that the cancer has returned and is now stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer with Bone Metastases. She’s had to stop working as the many tests, treatments, and strain on her body was too overwhelming. And as much as she, Josh and their ohana have been private about what their facing, the mounting medical costs are undeniable. Josh is now the sole provider working to support their ohana. If you know Celeste, you know that she has the biggest heart, she’s always first to help others, she has a positive attitude that is contagious, and above all she’s a fighter. Let’s help her, Josh and the boys know that they are not alone, that they are loved abundantly and that their financial burden will be lightened because every dollar adds up. On behalf of Celeste and her ohana, they mahalo you for donations, your prayers and your well wishes as she takes on her biggest fight yet.

All funds raised will go to medical bills, medical tests, medical treatments, medical supplies, travel to the mainland for treatments, lodging while on the mainland, and any other costs associated with her fight against Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. We will continue to update you on Celeste’s journey here and your words of love & encouragement will be shared with her daily.

Cancer Journey....

It all started back in the summer of 2019. Celeste was on a baseball trip in Reno, Nevada for her oldest son Logan when she felt a lump on her right breast. When she felt it, she didn’t think much of it at the time. When she arrived home, she sprang into action. She made an appointment with her Gynecologist. He hesitated at first because of her age, but she pushed to get a mammogram done. That’s where her Breast Cancer Journey began. She was diagnosed with Stage2A Lobule Carcinoma in August 2019. Everything she knew about Breast Cancer was foreign to her and her family.

In September of 2019 she had a lumpectomy. December 2019, she had 16 rounds of chemotherapy every 2 weeks. Although chemotherapy took a toll on her body, she remained positive in her journey. After chemotherapy, she then had 30 rounds of radiation to kill the remaining cancer cells that were present. By summer of 2020, she completed the standard of care of her Breast Cancer. For the next phase she was put on a hormonal therapy maintenance pill and was ordered to take mammograms and Breast MRIs for the next 5 years.

In between those years she was relieved to be (what she thought) done with her Breast Cancer. Fast forward to August 2023. Her very last Breast Mammogram to be considered in Remission took an ugly turn. The test found a swollen lymph node under her right armpit. Her next step, a biopsy to find out if it was cancer. Couple days after her biopsy, she received the heartbreaking news that it was positive being breast cancer. Her Breast Surgeon then ordered a CT scan as well as a Nuclear Medicine Scan to see if it had spread to different parts of her body. After all the testing, we then found out She now has Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer that spread to her Bones. Although that diagnosis is not what we hoped for, Celeste is the most positive person in all of this.

Back to the drawing board as a family they go. In all the research, time, and dedication as a family has put into her new journey, we have decided to take both Western and Holistic approach in healing her Cancer Diagnosis. Although the Western Conventional treatments are covered by insurance, the Holistic/Integrative side of treatments are not covered. She will be doing Integrative treatments on the mainland within the next month. With the help of her Oncologist here on Oahu and the Integrative team on the mainland, she believes in HOPE that although she has a rough road ahead of her, she will be good in the hands of the right Dr’s, treatments and the decision making along the way.

Celeste is currently undergoing Radiation treatments to relieve her hip pain caused by the bone cancer and Intravenous Vitamin C to keep her well and healthy.
