It is with the deepest of sorrows that we announce that Timothy “Timmy/Timbo” Abel Jr. passed away unexpectedly on October 23rd, 2021. Timmy was surrounded by his family and loved ones until the very end. Yet, Timmy’s family extended far beyond his own blood. He was able to find a place in his heart for anyone. In his eyes, the entire community of Winston-Salem was his family. He spent much of his time giving back to the homeless community of Winston, quite literally giving them the shirt off of his back. He was one of the most compassionate and giving people that we have ever known. Those that others may not have even acknowledged, he approached with open arms. As a celebration of life, and to honor his legacy, we are planning a benefit in his name to continue to give back to the homeless population of Winston-Salem. While the date and many other details are still to be determined, we will use 100% of funds to provide food and necessities to those in need. We also hope for this event to bring the community together with music and family activities, everything that Timmy enjoyed while he was with us.
