Celebration of Si Lee
Donation protected
We are posting today to let you know about the loss of our beloved friend, artist and community member Si Lee. We will honor their memory and show up for them in all the ways they showed up for others.
A large personality with a devious twinkle in their eye, who could fill a room with their laughter that will be deeply missed. An expressive tornado of emotion they brought beauty to the world with their art be it paintings, drawings or sculpture. They created with abandon and you can see every feeling they brushed, scratched and smeared onto canvas. There are not enough words to describe all the things they were, all the joy they brought and all the cares they gave so easily.
Si was someone who advocated for mental health education and trauma processing. They shared their personal journey through growth and healing and offered insight into what it looked like to fight through the struggles of trauma and continue to be a beacon of hope for change. They showed realities that are not always glamorous and encouraged understanding while making you laugh. Someone who showed up without judgment and created space for others from a place of love and compassion.
We are absolutely devastated by Si’s passing and are struggling to find the funds to cover the cost of a memorial and final resting place. Our goal is to raise enough money to cover the cost of a memorial worthy of the beautiful, energetic, loving chaotic force that Si was,the care of their earthly form and make sure their dog son Bruce has everything he needs.
Since this is an unexpected loss we need to have enough to have them moved from the medical examiner's office in the next 48 hours.
Please consider donating if you are able to do so and please share the story of our friend and the need to send them the love and celebration they deserved and were not giving on their last time here. We are grateful for every donation and will be updating this daily with new information with times dates and information on a memorial for our friend. We are also accepting donations of food services, music, space for gathering or anything that will help celebrate our friend. They were so worthy of love and kindness and we can all make sure they are remembered.
