Celebration of Recovery Mural Project

Hey there! I'm Catnip and this is a fundraiser for the "Celebration of Recovery" mural project on the Miklat Recovery Society's new base of operations and second stage Recovery center, the old St.Johns Ambulance building here in the qathet region (Powell River, British Columbia). This project is a part of Recovery Day PR, and each year they would normally have an event, but due to regulations, they decided to create a community mural to raise awareness. The piece's theme is an encouragement towards recovery from addictions and mental heath. Using colors we've turned the building into a sort of temple, where on the front side you can see a whole community of people working together and helping one another on the path of life, with many colourful doors meant to evoke an inviting feel. On the right side wall there is an intimate story of life and its journey. 

By Spring 2021, we plan to continue to safely work with volunteers to paint the entire building, including the garden space around back, and the tower on the right side of the building, which if you drive by, will see it is currently a work in progress. It's gotten a bit cold now, so we are awaiting for the turn of the year to continue, and this fundraiser will help the artists for the time put in so far, and for next years paint, lift, and fees.
