Holden was only 28 years old when he tragically lost his life to drug addiction. His Mother, Karen Couch (and my best friend) is heart broken. Karen is currently on disability and struggling financially with her own medical bills and many hospitalizations for Holden during his battle with heroin. Rather than hide the details of this tragic loss, the family hopes that their painful loss can help raise awareness of the horrific opioid crisis in our nation. Parents, families, and friends please be aware of how easy it is for a child to become addicted. Stay alert, be aware, and be there to love and support them in their daily lives. The loss of a child is a pain so great that all Karen's extended family and friends are needed to offer pray up and lend support to Karen during this journey.
I decided to start this GoFundMe page to help pay for expenses for a funeral/memorial to celebrate the life of her only son - Holden Wright. We want to ensure that Karen has a special place to commenorate his life and a place to visit to pay respect to his life as she grieves.
Holden was often referred to as a gentle giant. He was a kind and loving soul who lost his way. He was a beloved son, grandson, father, cousin, friend, and a child of God. He had a quick wit and was always happy to lend a hand to anyone who needed help or was in need. He has been called home to heaven too soon and will be received by his late father, Curtis Wright. Rest easy Holden, you will not suffer any longer.
