Trent Michaud's Celebration of Life
Donation protected
Maria Michaud lost her husband, Trent, and best friend on January 15, 2021 to an almost year long battle with cancer. After his diagnosis, Maria had to take a leave of absence from her job in order to take around-the-clock care of Trent. This has left her without personal funds to take care of Trent's Celebration of Life arrangements. Please consider donating to help Maria with this financial burden while she prepares to lay her beloved husband to rest.
Please read Maria's story below:
I lost my Husband and best friend of 23 years January 15, 2021 at 11:23pm to his battle of terminal Metastatic Melanoma Cancer.
Trent went to Winchester ER January 17, 2020. He had no use of his right side, including sight, arm, and leg. Scans showed 4 bleeding brain tumors and his body filled with tumors. He was in WMC for 54 days. In February, WMC gave him 2 weeks to live.
I stopped working to care for him 24/7. We sought treatments at UVA. Trent could not be left alone, because he had many medical needs. Trent's mental capacity was severely compromised and his body went through so much.
1. Emergency surgery 5 hours long resulting in an ostomy bag.
2. Emergency surgery bowels leaking into his body resulting in a drain bag.
3. Pinpoint Radiation to the brain
4. Whole brain Radiation
5. 3 different types of Immunotherapy treatments every 3 weeks
6. Falls resulting in 2 broken ribs and cracked hip
7. Internal bleeding multiple times
8. Radiation treatments to hip for tumors
9. Radiation treatments to lung, adrenal glands and kidney for tumors
10. Brain surgery to remove growing tumors
11. Radiation treatments to abdomen for tumors wrapped around intestines and bowels
12. Pneumonia in one lung
13. Complete tear in achilles after a fall
14. Hospitalized 2x for mental changes
Trent went to UVA ER January 5, 2021. We were told 2 days later there was nothing more they could do. The brain tumors were increasing and bleeding. UVA transported Trent home January 9th on Hospice care. We were told he had months, then weeks, then 24-48 hours. On January 15th he was transported to Winchester Hospice Inpatient. He passed away from a massive seizure to the brain.
Our family lost a loving husband, father and friend who came to know Christ February 2020. His heart and the light he had for Christ could easily be seen but sadly his body could not go on.
