With deep sadness we share the news of Steve Balch's passing on April 3, 2021 at The Woodlands Methodist Hospital. “Stevo” was adored for his fun-loving spirit and goofy humor. His positivity prevailed even while battling an aggressive cancer for the past two years. In celebration of his life, the Balch family has started this fundraiser to help with immediate critical expenses.
Steve's wife, April, unfortunately, is a cancer patient herself. In 2002 she was diagnosed with a brain tumor that has proved to be slow growing, but also inoperable. To this day she suffers debilitating headaches and nausea all the while serving as a fierce caretaker for Steve every moment of the way.
Plainly, Steve and April endured enormous financial hardships over many years. April needs our help through this transition, not only with funeral expenses and medical debts, but the home where she and Steve spent their life together is in urgent need of repairs. They have been unable to accomplish this due to both of their illnesses.
As his sister, I know it was Steve's dearest wish to fix the house for April. He left behind lists and notes and estimates. He spoke about it often and dreamed of this. On behalf of my entire family, we would love to remember him in this way. We sincerely appreciate any and all contributions in tribute to Steve.
