My father passed away at the age of 72, nine days after his birthday. He was hospitalized on October 9th with COVID and I will never forget the pain I felt when the pulmonologist called me to tell me how my father was doing. The doctor told me that my father was in the ICU but he had never met a man with so much faith and peace in his heart.

I thank all of the people who joined with us in prayer for God to heal and restore my father.
Ultimately, my father parted to the presence of the Lord on October 21st, 2021. My father was a man of strong faith in God and I am blessed to have been witness to how the Lord used my father’s life for His glory. He had a huge heart and always cared for others more than he cared for himself. I am also blessed that he was able to transmit the love he had for the Lord and the gospel to many people with enthusiasm. The loss has been hard but we have joy in our hearts knowing that he is no longer in pain but he is rejoicing with God and the angels in heaven.
“Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.”

My father often told me that when he passed, he didn’t want the family to cry tears of sorrow but instead to have joy in our hearts knowing that he would be celebrating in the presence of Our Lord. One of his favorite bible verses was:
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”

May the Lord bless the life of anyone reading this. He always instilled in me and my siblings to love others and to help those in need. Although his body is no longer alive, his soul will live on forever. My family and I appreciate your prayers, your condolences and any way you would like to help in the celebration and memory of Rafael Eduardo Cabrera.

Mi padre falleció a la edad de 72 años, nueve días después de su cumpleaños. El médico me contó que mi padre estaba en el departamento de cuidados intensivos pero que nunca había conocido a un hombre con tanta fe y paz en su corazón.
Doy las gracias a todas las personas que se unieron a nosotros en oración para que Dios sanara y restaurara a mi padre. Finalmente, mi padre partió a la presencia del Señor el 21 de Octubre de 2021. Mi padre era un hombre de fuerte fe en Dios y tengo la bendición de haber sido testigo de cómo el Señor usó la vida de mi padre para Su gloria. Tenía un corazón enorme y siempre se preocupaba por los demás más de lo que se cuidaba a sí mismo. También tengo la bendición de que pudiera mi papa transmitir el amor que tenía por el Señor y el evangelio a muchas personas con entusiasmo. La pérdida ha sido difícil, pero tenemos alegría en nuestros corazones sabiendo que ya no tiene dolor, sino que se regocija con Dios y los ángeles en el cielo.

Mi padre seguido me decía que cuando partiera de este mundo , no quería que la familia llorara lágrimas de dolor, sino que tuviéramos alegría en nuestros corazones sabiendo que estaría celebrando en la presencia de Nuestro Señor. Uno de sus versos bíblicos favoritos fue:
“Pues para mí, el vivir es Cristo y el morir es ganancia.”

Que el Señor bendiga la vida de cualquiera que lea esto. Siempre nos inculcó a mí y a mis hermanos a amar a los demás y ayudar a los necesitados. Aunque su cuerpo haya fallecido, su alma vivirá por siempre. Mi familia y yo apreciamos sus oraciones, sus condolencias y cualquier manera que quieran ayudar en la celebración y el recuerdo de la vida de Rafael Eduardo Cabrera.
