Celebration of Life for our sister

Our beautiful sister, Christine, hasn’t had an easy ride for the last several years. She has been vigorously battling heart failure. Spending more days in the hospital than out, we never gave up hope that one day she would be granted a heart. Last week, on December 28th, our sister got that long anticipated call that they found a heart for her. We were all beyond overjoyed and prayed for a smooth operation and recovery. On December 30th, our sweet sister went in for her heart transplant. She came out strong and fierce!

We do not understand where things went wrong. Several days after her transplant, our sister went into cardiac arrest. The nurses and doctors resuscitated her three different times, each time taking longer than the last. This stunned her heart, damaged her lungs significantly, and caused internal bleeding. Our sweet sister has been on life support this past week and today we unfortunately were given no other option than to let her go.

I am asking for help for our family and our niece and nephews. We would like to grant Christine’s wishes in having a celebration of life. For our family to grieve, love, and support one another through this extremely difficult time.
