On April 19th, our family sufferered a great loss.  My father lost his wife of 49 years and we lost our beloved mother and friend.

Our mother was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. This was a complete and utter shock to our family as she has always been digilent on her health care and has had recently has medical procedures where cancer was never mentioned.  They ran some test for suspected pneumonia and did a full body scan and found she had cancer in her lungs, brain, bone, and liver.  

Time was not on our side. Friday, she ended up in the emergency room with horrible head pain. She was there for five hours, therefore, all calls from her care team were missed on account of being in the ER, weekend happened, and our family was more or less left to figure it out ourselves until offices were open on Monday.  

Fortunately, we were able to got her enrolled in Faith Hospice on Saturday.  We were given directions on how to care for her and were provided the medication and equipment to keep her comfortable. 

She progressively got worse over the weekend and passed Monday afternoon. 

This fund is being set up to assist the family with medical expenses and expenses moving forward.  

We needed assistance from 911 numerous times to get her to and from the hospital, we needed a lift and assist call to move her from her bed to the hospice bed. It was a horrid experience during one of the most difficult times anyone could handle losing the love of their life.

Our mom touched so many lives and got dealt some bad cards in a short amount of time.
