Celebration of Life for Karen Elliott

Karen Halls Elliott, beloved mother, grandmother, friend and long-time Juneau community member, suddenly passed away on March 27th, leaving behind two wonderful children, Sarah and Ryan, Ryan's wife Cassandra and their two children, Aksel and Liv, her sister Jan and nephew Jordan and his wife Anna and their two children Ethan and Archer.

The Elliott family has been near and dear to many in Juneau, and in many other places as we see the outpouring of support far and wide. I have known Karen, Sarah and Ryan for over thirty years - I have seen and personally experienced the depth of their kindness, love, and unconditional support of their family, friends and community. Karen was always full of so much life and laughter - she loved to dance, travel, and spend as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren. Whenever her kids or grandchildren needed her, or she just missed them, she kept her bag packed and ready to go so she could be there in an instant. Karen loved to design and fix her home - and what an amazing woman she was, building walls, putting in windows, laying floors and anything else she accomplished. I often thought, there is nothing Karen cannot do! She inspired me and others to be fierce and just go for it - and to be sure to dance and smile through life.

There have been many people reaching out to family and friends asking how they can help. For this reason, for the reasons stated above and the many memories each of us hold for the Elliotts, I am starting this go fund me page to help give back and support the family during this time as we all celebrate Karen's life just as she would have wanted. Any funds raised will be specifically used to support the Celebration of Life for Karen, which will be held on April 14th at 4:30pm at the Juneau Yacht Club, and to support any additional costs to support the completion of Karen's dream projects.

As a long-time friend, I want to send my appreciation to all the people who have shown up to help - there are too many to list, but please know how much the family has been overwhelmed and appreciative of the support.
