A year ago I was given the opportunity to work with a very special girl that touched my life in ways that I never expected. I was asked if I would do home visits with a Evie.  Evie was unable to attend school during a particular time because of health reasons.  As a special education teacher in her district, I was lucky enough to be invited to go into her home and read to her, interact with her, and discover ways to encourage physical and mental growth.  

During my visits, I saw her excitement, enthusiasm and sometimes even a tiny bit of teenage stubbornness, which I secretly loved!!  Evie was nonverbal with a variety of physical and mental challenges.  I was able to develop a connection with her through her eyes, expressions, sounds, and movements. I can’t explain what a special girl Evie was and what a special opportunity this was for me.

Evie passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2020.  During the time that I worked with her, I got to know her mother and see the love and bond between them that was like no other.  I have started this GoFundMe to help Evie’s momduring this time of grief that no parent should ever have to experience.      

Evie’s Mother’s life was devoted to her 24/7 365 days a year for 14 years to ensure her life was the best life she deserved. Imagine caring for your child every single minute of every single day, then suddenly that is stripped away.  Her death is a devastating loss that her family & friends will feel forever. Evie was a child with unconditional love, strength, joy, and courage that people that knew her could see.

My hope is to provide some financial support for Evie’s Mom as she figures out life without her precious daughter, funeral expenses and a “celebration of life” once it is safe enough to do so due to the pandemic.  I am asking if you can please help if you can.
