My name is Saylor, and I dated Evan Fritschy for almost 3 years. On January 22nd, 2026, Evan's mental and emotional pain became too great for him to bear and he took his own life. I'm hosting a celebration of life for Evan—that will be open to all—with the help and support of my friends, who are Evan and I's found family.
Evan was 23 years old and went to Bonney Lake High School and Enumclaw High School. He went to Bates Technical College and got his degree in Fire Science and planned to become a firefighter. He is loved more than he will ever know.
Evan was someone whose smile immediately brought ease and comfort to those who needed it, whose laughter could be recognized from across a bustling, busy room. He was goofy and loved to make people laugh, always cracking silly jokes and never passing up a chance for playful banter. Evan cared fiercely and was loyal to those he cared for immensely; he would do anything to lighten their load or help them out in any way he could. He had a big heart and had lots of love to share. The funds raised here will go towards his celebration of life.
I'm Saylor Watts, 21 years old, and planned to spend the rest of my life with Evan. Countless conversations, plans, and dreams for our future. I'm currently a full time student obtaining a bachelor's in psychology and working full time, hoping to become a therapist in the future. Any donations are deeply appreciated, and if you can't, please consider sharing.
His celebration of life is to be hosted at Doyle's Public House in Stadium District of Tacoma, WA. The date is not yet finalized, but we're aiming for the end of April/beginning of May.
Thank you for taking the time to read. Regardless of donation— whether you never met Evan but knew him through me or one of his friends, went to school with him, or simply heard stories, please carry on his courage, joy, and love in everything you do.
Any remaining funds will be donated to the Fire Service Program at Bates Technical College.
