Derrick was born and adopted on January 4th 1981 and raised in Queens, NY. Later moved to Northern New Jersey where the real journey of his music influence began. As a Berklee College of Music Student he learned everything there was to begin his career in music. From engineering, editing, music theory, musical composing and structure, to writing some of the most melodic tunes many of us have all heard and loved to hear him play.
Since the early 2000's some of Derrick's accomplishments were known as 4 AM Scaries (Guitarist) B-SIDE THEORY (Guitarist), HELLO EDEN (Guitarist), SOULFLY & CAVALERA CONSPIRACY (Worldwide Touring Tech), 40 BELOW SUMMER (Bassist), MARC RIZZO & the CORRUPTORS (Guitar & Bass), MILES NORTH (Bass & Guitar) and also known as a Solo Artist, Producer, Session Musician, Guitarist, Bassist , Drummer, Teacher/Instructor, and owner of HIT N RUN STUDIO's.
Derrick has had the pleasure and opportunity to tour and travel the world with some of the most amazing bands and artists we all know today. He lived for this life, loved every second of it, and his dreams of meeting some of his biggest idols came to life during this time. He was a brother, uncle, cousin, best friend, son, and idol to many people. He left behind a legacy of amazing music, talent, friendships, and most of all a kind soul that would do anything for anyone at anytime.
This fundraiser is to help cover the costs of this event as it will need to be held in a space that can accommodate a lot of people, but again while dealing with the mandates and restrictions of Covid-19 (Coronavirus). The event would include, but not limited to: Live performances from past and present bandmates, videos and pictures in memory of Derrick, food, beverages, decorations, planning, and all the other tasks that are involved with planning an event as such.
The remaining balance left over will then be rolled into a fund that Derrick's Parents will be creating in his honor for a "Music Program" for kids in need locally.
Details on this event date are still being processed as we are dealing with new strict guidelines from the state as per Covid-19 and with the holidays around the corner, close friends and family feel that we should wait for the dust to settle so we can plan accordingly.
Funds will be needed by spring of 2021 (April)
Funding will be used as follows: The split starts at the first $1.00 (50/50)
$25,000- Celebration of Life Event Expenses
$25,000 - The Derrick Kliebisch Free Music Lesson Program for Kids in Need
