Darrel Shadbolt was a gentle man who loved everyone he met. He was a loving father who only wanted the best for his daughters. Throughout his life, Darrel struggled with addiction, which created a lot of separation between him and his family. Even though he was deeply loved and cherished, we all had a difficult time navigating these destructive behaviors. Nonetheless, he was very much loved.

Dad struggled for many years with homelessness, and at times I didn’t know where or how to find him. Eventually, Dad was assisted in getting himself into a long-term memory care facility where he battled complex health issues. This is when we got back into contact with him. He was happy there—finally safe and warm, free from the streets. It gave us time together and a chance to rebuild our relationships with him.

January brought a steep decline in his health, leading to his passing. This is something that none of us were prepared to handle financially, which is why I am turning to this platform. I want to honor the man and father he was, and I am asking for support to help me give my father the tribute he deserves and bring our family together to remember him.
