Celebration of Life for Danny Darko Morales
Donation protected
Hello and thanks for dropping by. My name is Mike and as many of you know, I lost my brother Danny this past weekend. He was my older brother and best friend. He's always been there for me through thick and thin. He was my confidant and biggest fan. He truly knew me and understood me, perhaps better than I know myself. His unconditional love and support will be greatly missed. While I know we had a special connection, I didn't quite realize how gifted he was in making friends and building the most amazing relationships with others. I seriously think he viewed strangers as "friends he just hasn't met yet".
Danny was a fan of the unconventional. He welcomed outsiders and rooted for outcasts and underdogs. Perhaps he was that way, because that's how he saw himself. The thing that I've learned though, is that he was loved my soooo many people, from many walks of life. The outpouring of love from friends has been so touching and heartwarming. Those of you who really knew him, know that Danny was Danny. A strong-willed, independent Leo who questioned authority and couldn't be told what to do. As you know, that outlook doesn't mesh well with holding down a "job", so Danny managed to earn his living through a variety of part-time endeavors including gig-work and catering.
This this year was especially difficult as he wasn't able to work much due to the pandemic and job closures. Unfortunately, Danny did not have any money socked away to cover his funeral / memorial expenses (I mean who does?, Right?!?). Well, my family is doing our best to give Danny a proper, yet modest send off and we could really use your help. I’m working on having his service at Hollywood Forever Cemetery because he really loved to go there and it’s what he would have wanted. For someone, who walked the punk rock life, I can’t think of no better place for Danny than Hollywood Forever. Unfortunately, their prices, for even the most modest of services, are anywhere from $5000-$8000. As a family, we’ve been able to collect some of the money, but we are still far short of $5000. So that’s why, we need your help. Your donations will go toward the costs of the viewing / memorial service, casket, embalming, cremation, urn, memorial plaque and possibly placement of his ashes in a niche or at the rose garden at Hollywood Forever. Lastly, we cannot finalize our plans without knowing how much support we have from all of you. We are looking at holding his service sometime late next week, so if you could please make your donation by Friday or Saturday at the latest, I’d certainly appreciate it.
If you have any questions about this fund, its goals, or its execution, please contact me.
Thank you so much,
Michael Morales
