Celebration of life for Danika Lee Ibbotson

Our names are Danita and Anikka, and we are heartbroken over the passing of our beautiful niece Danika Lee Ibbotson.

On Mother’s Day, Danika was in a tragic car accident in Oakhurst, Ca, that also claimed her boyfriend's life. She fought bravely to come back to her family and friends, but sadly, she succumbed to her injuries on May 10, 2022.

Danika was a bright light to any and everyone around her. She loved to dance, write poetry, draw and listen to music from all genres and eras, and she just loved life. She turned 18 in January and was just about to graduate high school. Danika was proud of her Native heritage and was a faithful member of Sierra Pines Church. Her faith was strong in her Creator, and we know that Danika is resting in His loving arms.

She leaves behind her parents, Way Ettner and Timothy Ibbotson, her sisters, Kaicey, Keisa, Kristen, her brother Matthew, aunts, uncles, cousins and faithful friends. This loss is felt so deeply in not just her family and friends but in the entire community.

With such an unexpected sudden loss, something we are never prepared for, we are asking for donations to help the family cover funeral expenses and unexpected costs that come in line with a tragedy like this.
