There are simply no words that can be used to express how one should feel when experiencing the loss of a loved one, expected or unexpected. Yesterday my sister and I, alongside with what seemed like the whole Brattleboro community received news that Robert Kane Jr, our father, a.k.a Bobby had been taken from us. Unfortunately, in such a time of heartache and grief comes the worry about being financially able to pay for the proper and necessary end of life needs. Bobby was one that was friends with many and there for all and my sister and I are compelled to see through that he receives nothing but the greatest celebration of life possible.

            Bobby had a few things in life that he showed a true passion for. These things consisted of animals, anything with wheels that could go fast, and “his girls”. Whether he was rescuing squirrels and nursing them back to health, walking his beloved goat Cassie down the road, doing endless donuts in any given parking lot or watching his daughters softball games there was never a time where he didn’t have a smile on his face. What people sometimes fail to recognize and/or neglect to want to see or believe is that even though he seemed his happiest, Bobby was suffering his own battle for quite some time.   

            Our dad taking his life so soon not only left behind us girls but an abundance of loving and caring friends that were like his family. In the last day’s time we have received endless support, kind words and love from countless people. We want nothing more than for Bobby to be remembered for the fun loving, big kid that everyone knew him as.  

            All donations will go toward his cremation services and a celebration of life in his name. His celebration of life will take place Friday, October 19th at 2pm at the American Legion, downtown Brattleboro. All are welcome; any questions don’t hesitate to reach out to Ashley or Ariel.
