CELEBRATION OF DAVID COFFEY, DO

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Susan Carter, sister to David Coffey, DO. Please view the above links of David and his life. Although my brother was well known, accomplished and loved, his Lewy Body Dementia Disease allowed his genius brain to make poor decisions financially. He gave all his money to charity and other teaching organizations, not realizing his immediate family's home was in jeopardy. See this is the home where his special needs brother Kenneth lives. Now that David is passed any debt he owed will be deducted from the home his brother Kenneth was to live out his life in, the one our father left the 3 of us. Somehow David borrowed from the home equity of the house. We're just looking right now to cover his funeral & burial expenses. Any little bit will help. So please make any donations to this Go Fund Me Account.

  • David Coffey, DO, FAAO, FCA, received the Fellow of American Academy of Osteopathy (FAAO) Distinguished Service Award. The award is presented to those FAAOs who have further distinguished themselves in contributions to osteopathic literature; development of osteopathic theory, method or procedure; research; osteopathic education; service to the AAO on committees, boards, etc.; public relations; service to public health; and/or osteopathic medical economics and advocacy. I know that’s a lot of words and most I don’t even know to be honest, (says his niece Sarah Carter), but all I know is my uncle was the sweetest man to me and he was a great doctor and I wish I could have spent more time with him.
  • Dr. Coffey, a 1984 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), served as the 2013-14 American Academy of Osteopathy president. He was in a private family/OMM practice for 27 years in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and in Montgomery, Alabama along with medical staff appointments at several local hospitals in their departments of medicine, family medicine and emergency medicine. He received board certifications from the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice, the Board of Certification in Emergency Medicine, and from the American Osteopathic Board of Special Proficiency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. And many more accolades I'm not sure of..............
  • At 76 years old he dies today, June 2nd, 2023, with Lewy body dementia, He donated all his money to charities and organizations everywhere…. He was a missionary and helped start the Sudan Relief project. Did you know he was knighted by the Roman Catholic Church? He is Sir David Coffey, DO. <smh> <who knew>? My brother took every moment that he could to help someone else in need, flying to different countries, and performing surgeries on 3rd world country children and adults. I could feel, every time I saw him, that he was a humble, kindhearted, genuine soul.
  • Instead of flowers please make contributions towards his funeral, mass & burial service to this Go-Fund-Me Account
