Celebration of Brett Ferguson's Life

(May 3rd, 1986- February 6th, 2021)
On the evening of February 6, 2021, Brett Ferguson tragically lost his life in a vehicular accident. Brett had spent the day, selflessly supporting his friends and fellow cycling enthusiasts as they participated in a gravel cycling event near Wewoka, OK. Normally, Brett would have been a participant in the event, but mechanical issues with his bike left him unable to ride. Despite this, and true to Brett’s spirit, he still chose to spend the day with his friends and help other riders achieve their goal for the day – all while selflessly navigating the harsh Oklahoma winter weather including rain, sleet and snow. Brett will always be remembered as someone who was thrilled with helping others… always there to lend a hand and offer a warm smile as only he could.
Brett loved cycling and was known by many to be an enthusiast. Nothing, however, could match the enthusiasm he had for being a father to his beautiful children who he loved so dearly. Jack (11) and Layla (7) will continue through life with many wonderful memories of time shared with their dad, who always spoke of them as his greatest achievement. Brett loved more than anything being their “Dad”, and he coached them to know that “together” they could achieve anything. His spirit will continue to inspire them and they will always be “together”.
Over the past few days since his death, the amount of love and gratitude expressed towards Brett has been overwhelming. Brett had a gift of positively impacting people's lives without even knowing it, and his impact is reflected in this outpouring of support. Through time, Brett’s biggest legacy will be his children. Together, let’s help his legacy thrive by supporting this fund for his children to use for their future educations.
Brett’s laid back, gentle, easy going approach to life was admirable. He brought so much joy, happiness and laughter to everyone who met him. He will be missed, but remembered, forever.
