Celebrating Kristy’s Free-Spirited Life

Hello everyone, 

It is with a heavy heart that I’m writing you, offering condolences to the many communities who are hurting today after the loss of one of our brightest women, Kristy Burgess. 

Kristy left the physical world peacefully on Sunday April 18th, 2021, suffering a one-in-a-million brain aneurysm that ultimately took her from us much too soon. To the family that was with her in her last moments, our hearts and love is with you through this difficult time. We are so sorry.

For those of you who knew Kristy, you probably knew her to be the life of the party with an infectious smile and an adventurous soul. Kristy was a free spirit, who lived life to the fullest everywhere she went!  

Kristy impacted so many with her kindness and gentle nature - her friends, her family, her siblings, her community and more! We are raising money to ensure those who knew Kristy, are able to celebrate her together, the way she would hope for, and as Covid allows. 

Any money raised will go to her family for expenses through this difficult time; allowing the family to grieve without the financial worry of flights, accommodations and memorial costs. Every bit helps! 

As Kristy would have wanted and as highlighted by her family - anything that is raised and left over will be donated to Lupus Canada, an organization that helps fight for people living with Lupus.
