January 27, 2024 will always be remembered as the day that changed our lives dramatically. My little sister, Maliah (26), and my nephew, Quay (5), were taken from this world in a tragic car accident.Two of the world’s brightest stars were stolen from us unexpectedly.
When I hear someone refer to another person as their heartbeat, I think of Maliah and Quay. That’s what they were to each other. There was nothing Maliah loved more than being a mother. They were both so young, so full of life; and even though their lives were cut tragically short they were able to touch the lives of so many people. Their vibrant spirits and contagious smiles gave our lives so much joy and will be desperately missed. We never could have imagined that their journey would come to such an abrupt end. We are asking our friends, family, loved ones and community to help us cover the cost of their celebration of life ceremony. And I say celebration of life, because truthfully my sister wouldn’t want it to be called a funeral - She would want us to celebrate the time we had with her and Quay.
