We have set up this Go Fund Me to help with after care and funeral costs for our sweet Theo. Theo will be doing his part by donating any viable organs he can.
Anencephaly occurs in 3 out of every 10,000 births. This rare and tragic defect is caused when the brain and skull do not form. It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our sweet Theo will be born with this condition and we are hoping he will live long enough to know our touch. It is a fatal diagnosis and I was told my child would not survive. This diagnosis happens at random, doctors have no idea what causes it to happen. There was nothing I did or could have done to prevent this from happening to him. After going on support groups, I have seen children who beat the odds and survive for months. If Theo were to beat these odds I would have nothing for him. I have three outfits for him and a car seat.
If he doesn’t beat these odds, Tanner and I would like to get him a small headstone but feel cremation will be best, so we can bring him with us forever. We are going to ask around for free cremation but we would also like to get necklaces with his ashes inside so we will be able to carry him around with us.
During this difficult time we also want to make sure we have the financial means to mourn properly. A lot of our money has gone to travel fees. Our hospital and doctors are over 4 hours away. They are the only hospital and doctors in our state that has dealt with these conditions and the only ones who know how to give us proper and comfort care during this time. It has been rough.
Im sorry if this offends or displeases anyone. My family has told me to wait until the time come but I feel we are running out of time. I get induced October 30th or at which anytime he can come on his own. I am stressed and worried we will not be able to support him or ourselves. My hope is to make sure we are covered before hand so we don’t have to stress at a time we are supposed to mourn.
