On January 6, 2026, our family suffered the sudden and unexpected loss of our beloved Tawanda Shepard. Tawanda was a daughter, a mother, a grandmother, and a friend who left an indelible mark on everyone she met. To look at Tawanda, you might see a small frame—but those who knew her knew she was mighty. She was feisty, powerful, and full of a strength that caught people by surprise. She moved through the world with a generous heart, expressed most beautifully through her love of arts and crafts. Tawanda was a gifted creator who found joy in making things by hand, always showering those she loved with unique gifts she had made herself.
Her Legacy
Tawanda’s greatest pride was her family. She leaves behind:
• Her Mother: Dorothy Brooks (86)
• Her Three Sons: Chauncey Robinson (49), Marcus Swain (49), and Andre Brooks (34)
• Her Grandchildren: Whom she adored and who were the lights of her life.

Because Tawanda’s passing was so sudden, we are facing the difficult task of arranging a farewell that honors the woman she was.
